THE HISTORY AND FUTURE OF DIVINATION SYSTEMS

WHAT IS DIVINATION?

With the birth of The Shankara Experience ™ – the world’s most advanced divination system, we must consider all of the options for divination – and divination’s rich and miraculous history.

THE HISTORY AND HISTORY OF DIVINATION SYSTEMS

Divination is the practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown through supernatural means. It is a method of gaining insight or guidance through various methods of prediction, such as interpreting signs, symbols, or omens, consulting oracles, or using tools such as tarot cards, Runes, I-Ching and many others.

Divination is an ancient practice that has been used by many cultures throughout history. It is often associated with religious or spiritual beliefs, and the methods used can vary widely depending on the culture or tradition.

Some people use divination as a form of self-help or personal development, while others use it to gain insight into specific questions or problems. However, it is important to note that the accuracy and effectiveness of divination methods is often disputed by skeptics, and some people consider divination to be nothing more than superstition.

Overall, divination is a complex and controversial practice that has been used throughout history to seek knowledge of the future, guidance and understanding of the unknown. It’s important to approach divination with an open mind but also with caution, as the results are not always certain and should not be used as a substitute for critical thinking or professional advice.

Divination systems, such as tarot and oracle cards, have been used for centuries as tools for gaining insight and guidance. They are still popular today, both for personal use and in professional settings such as psychic reading and spiritual counseling. In the future, it is likely that these types of divination systems will continue to be used and may even become more popular as people look for guidance and understanding in uncertain times.

However, the way that people interact with divination systems may change as technology continues to advance. For example, digital versions of tarot and oracle cards, as well as virtual and augmented reality experiences, may become more common. The overall use and interpretation of Oracle boards can also be more versatile and accurate with the inclusion of AI.

HISTORY

Divination, or the practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown through supernatural means, has been used by various cultures throughout history. Some of the earliest known divination systems include:

  • I Ching (or “Book of Changes”), a Chinese divination system that dates back to at least the 11th century BC. It uses a set of 64 hexagrams (six-line figures) and a set of commentaries to form a divination system that can be used to answer questions about the future or to provide guidance for making decisions.
  • Scrying, a method of divination that involves staring into a reflective surface, such as a crystal ball or a bowl of water, in order to see visions or receive messages. The origins of scrying can be traced back to ancient civilizations, such as the Egyptians and the Chinese.
  • Oracles, which were used in ancient Greece and Rome to predict the future or to receive guidance from the gods. Oracle sites were typically located at shrines, and they often involved a priest or priestess who would give prophecies after consulting with a god or goddess.
  • Augury, a method of divination used by the ancient Romans in which the flight of birds was observed and interpreted as a sign of future events.

All these methods are ancient and still in practice with some changes in the modern world, these are only examples and are not an exhaustive list, other method like Tarot, Astrology, Numerology, were also developed in the centuries after these ancient systems.

TALKING BOARDS

A talking board, also known as a Ouija board, is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0-9, the words “yes,” “no,” and other symbols or words. It is often used as a tool for divination or as a means of communicating with the dead.

Ouija is typically used with a pointer or planchette, which is moved by participants during the session. The use of Ouija boards has been associated with spiritualism and the occult, and its origins can be traced back to the late 19th century.

Yes, there are other types of talking boards that have been developed in addition to the Ouija board. Some examples include:

  • The Talking Board: This is a talking board developed as an alternative to the Ouija board that does not use the letters and symbols associated with the Ouija board. Instead, it features a simple “yes” and “no” on the board, along with a pointer or planchette.
  • The Spirit Board: This is another alternative to the Ouija board that features a similar design, with letters, numbers, and symbols on the board, along with a pointer or planchette. Some Spirit Boards also include a pentagram, as it is considered a powerful symbol in some occult practices
  • The Angel Board: This is a talking board that is designed to communicate with angels and other spirit guides, rather than the dead. They typically include the letters of the alphabet, numbers, and the words “yes” and “no” on the board, along with a pointer or planchette.

There are different types of talking boards and different methods for using them for divination, ritual or communication with the spirits, Each board designs and symbols may be different but the principle is the same, using the movement of a pointer or planchette to spell out messages. They all tend to fall under the category of divination tools and should be used with care and caution as it is considered controversial by some.

RUNES & SACRED STONES

Runes are a set of characters used for writing, divination, and magic in ancient Germanic cultures, specifically the Norse and Anglo-Saxon. Each rune has a specific meaning and can be used in combination to create messages or cast spells. The runic alphabets are known as “futhark” after the first few letters of the alphabet.

There are various types of runes that were used throughout history, including:

  • Elder Futhark: The oldest known runic alphabet, which dates back to the 2nd or 3rd century AD and was used by Germanic tribes throughout northern Europe. It consists of 24 characters.
  • Younger Futhark: Also known as the “Scandinavian runes,” this alphabet was developed in the 9th century AD and was used primarily in Scandinavia. It consists of 16 characters.
  • Anglo-Saxon Futhark: This alphabet was used in Anglo-Saxon England, and it is a variation of the Elder Futhark with additional letters to represent the sounds used in the Anglo-Saxon language.

These are the well-known alphabets used for Runes, but there are many different variations of Runes through the different cultures and centuries.

As for Sacred stones, there are many different types of stones that have been considered sacred or powerful throughout history, depending on the culture.

Examples:

  • In ancient Egypt, Lapis Lazuli and Turquoise were considered sacred stones.
  • In ancient China, Jade was considered a sacred stone and was often used in carvings and jewelry.
  • In Hinduism, the Rudraksha beads are sacred and are used in prayer beads.
  • In Christianity, the Holy grail, which is believed to be the cup used by Jesus at the Last Supper is a powerful symbolic stone.

Again, this is not an exhaustive list, and many cultures have their own unique sacred stones.
